Richard Azera

A successful serial entrepreneur with a 40+ years career as an entrepreneur, CEO, investor, consultant and strategic advisor to corporations in Europe, US and Mexico.

​

Richard started and scaled several companies from the ground up, eventually selling two of them to large corporations. Partnered with Groupe Suez (today Engie) to scale his French bottling and distribution company through organic and external growth in 7 European countries to become the number 2 European HOD operator. After a successful exit to Group Danone, became their CEO HOD Europe. 

​

He also launched two Real Estate Investment Funds specializing in distressed residential properties in Southern California. These two funds closed with excellent returns for the investors.

​

A member of the executive committee of the European Bottled Water Association (EBWA) for many years, he became successively Chairman of the EBWA and of the International Council of Bottled Water Associations (ICBWA) working on European and worldwide industry regulations and lobbying.

​

He transitioned to advisory and consulting with the Adizes Institute, working with organizations in various industries for the last 18 years as an Organizational Therapist, helping CEOs and their teams implement the lessons he learned and more through a methodology and tools covering themes like change management programs, culture change, corporate alignment, conflict resolution and turnaround situations.

He co-founded the Adizes Institute office in Los Angeles and is a certified senior Adizes Organizational Therapist. His strategic approach and his experiences with start-ups, small and large corporations make him a valuable asset to CEOs trying to balance short and long term goals regardless of where their company is located on the lifecycle curve.

​

Richard’s background combines a Masters in mechanical engineering from a French Grande Ecole and an MBA from UCLA. He is fluent in French, English and Spanish. He is married, has three children and lives in Laguna Beach, Southern California.
